Our classroom block and library are the cornerstones of our rapidly developing International Institute for Tibetan and Asian Studies (ITAS), which is offering university level courses in Tibetan and Sanskrit languages at Karma Guen at various times of the year.

At the moment, the unique ITAS Certificate Tibetan Studies is offered, which is designed according to the British standards for higher education. In the future, more academic programs will be offered.

By doing so, ITAS aims in the short to mid term to educate translators, who in the long run will contribute substantially to the preservation of the rich cultural tradition of Tibetan Buddhism by interpreting lectures and translating the Diamond Way Buddhist teachings into their native languages.

ITAS is headed by Steering Board of dedicated academics. Prof. Dr. Burkhard Scherer (Canterbury Christ Church University) functions as the main academic external assessor.
